Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

RYLA program

Each year, Rush-Henrietta Rotary awards two students the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, one in the Undergraduate Program and one in the Graduate Program. To be eligible, students need to be between 16 and 24 years of age, have exhibited leadership qualities either through school, 4-H, scouts, church, community, or similar roles, communicate effectively and work well with others; and want to participate in a program that is focused on leadership skills that will help them succeed in college or in the workplace.

Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate program is designed to be a preparatory program for campus or work life and is usually awarded to a high school senior or junior. This program includes large and small leadership activities, as well as hands-on participatory events. This program is 5 days long and takes place at R.I.T.

Graduate Program

The graduate program is designed for college students or working adults (18-24 years of age) and is focused on topics such as conflict management, delegation, goal setting, interpersonal relations and leadership responsibilities. This session is one week long and takes place at Alfred University.
